Early Years Service
The Early Years Service is responsible for regularly inspecting and monitoring all pre-schools, nurseries, creches and private schools that take children under 5 years. Child minders that are registered with Health and Social Services are also regularly inspected and monitored to ensure that they continue to meet the required standards.
We have a resource area that provides a variety of information that may be useful for child minders and pre-school, nursery and creches workers.
Our team of qualified staff are available to provide support and advice on any Early Years issue, and to respond to any queries or concerns you may have regarding the registered pre-schools and private schools, nurseries, creches and child minders.
If you are are looking for a child minder or nursery for your child, we hold a vacancy list of registered child minders that can be distributed on request and below you will find a current list of nurseries and a leaflet that should help you to determine whether a child minder is right for you and your child.
If you are thinking of becoming a child minder, there is also a leaflet that you can download that should help you understand the process.
The Early Years Service is open Monday to Friday
