Overseas Aid Commission
The Guernsey Overseas Aid Commission considers applications from UK, Guernsey, Jersey and Isle of Man registered charities seeking grant aid. Applications must be for clearly defined projects located in areas of greatest need within the Developing World. Priority will be given to "Least Developed" countries, as designated by the United Nations. The Commission will also consider making donations to major international disaster or emergency response appeals in the Developing World.
The Guernsey Overseas Aid Commission (the Commission) is a non-statutory, non-governmental body and was established in 2004 following the Review of the Machinery of Government.
The Commission's mandate is:
"To distribute monies voted by the States for overseas aid making contributions by way of grants and emergency and disaster relief;
To develop programmes relating to the collection and distribution of funds involving the private and voluntary sectors;
in accordance with policies set by the Policy Council, having regard to recommendations from the Commission."
The objectives of the Commission are to manage and administer the budget approved by the States of Guernsey for overseas aid.
The Commission was established in 2004 superseding the former Overseas Aid Committee and has seven Members, including a Chairman and Vice-Chairman, all serving four year terms. The current Members are:

- Dr N. Paluch
An Annual Report is published by the Commission which includes details on projects supported during the previous year.
